Translated from Portuguese as The Whistling Cork Oak, it refers to the tree’s lively soundscape, created by the many birds nesting in and around it. Every nine years, the tree produces cork, a renewable material widely used in Portugal. Beyond its ecological value and biodiversity, the Sobreiro holds deep cultural significance.
